UPLOADED 8 APRIL, 2025
"PLUG IN │ Editorial," a joint trade show for fashion and lifestyle goods co-hosted by Senken Shimbun and CREDITS, drew 99 exhibiting companies at its April 2025 show — the most since the pandemic. With fashion at its core, the show is also notable for the many lifestyle-goods brands taking part, spanning fragrance, cosmetics, food, and more.
Since the previous show, PLUG IN has been held at Hikarie Hall — a Shibuya landmark with a strong affinity for fashion, and unbeatable access thanks to its direct connection to Shibuya Station. Among this show's highlights, 9 companies are taking part through "CFD TOKYO" (the Council of Fashion Designers Tokyo), a group representing some of Japan's leading fashion designers, showing new work from apparel-centered designer brands. "CROSSROAD," the beauty, fragrance, and cosmetics area, returns again, bringing together a wide-ranging lineup from popular Korean cosmetics to scalp care.
Among overseas brands looking to break into the Japanese market are Future Classic, an original brand from Hong Kong select shop kapok, and Mei Sing Hua Lu Shui, a household staple across generations in Taiwan. Noriyuki Miyazaki, known for his work in haute couture, is also unveiling his own ready-to-wear brand "yoshinori miyazaki" for the first time, alongside "Yudangi," an apparel brand launched by writing-instrument maker Pilot Corporation through its future-creation lab "Pilabot."
Thursday the 10th, from 13:00 — "Journal Kubocchi Fashion Talk Salon Vol. 49"! Fashion journalist Chizuru Mukai joins as a guest. Masahiro Kubo and freelance announcer Saeko Ishida will hold a public recording of USEN Encore Mode at the venue.
Friday the 11th, from 13:00 — "No clothing should ever be thrown away — everything should be collected. And everything can be reborn." A talk session with Norihaki Zaima of Amiaz Inc., which runs the clothing collection project "withal – Multi Circular Economy," and Tamio Kitagawa, a reporter with Senken Shimbun's Sustainable Community!
Hikarie Hall is directly connected to Shibuya Station, yet boasts roughly 1,000㎡ of space. With a flat floor and a 7m ceiling height, it allows for a wide range of staging and can host all kinds of events. Large freight elevators are available for oversized load-ins. The 5-room conference space on the 11th floor is also available for smaller-scale exhibits.
