A Fresh Take on the Sun Visor That Pairs With a Dress — SHINJEO

SHINJEO is a hat brand launched in New York in 2014 by Park SHINJEO. After building a career in luxury marketing and graphic design in Korea, she moved to New York and studied hat design at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology). She specializes in modern designs built on urban yet natural, soft lines.

Among its pieces, the sun visor has been especially well received as a fashion item. While visors are usually thought of as everyday sun protection, SHINJEO's fresh designs pair with dresses too, and can be worn with the feel of a hair accessory. Because they roll up compactly for storage, they're easy to carry — suited to a quick errand, a commute, sports, or any occasion.

This year, select fashion-accessory shop Gold & Bouncy became the brand's official Japan distributor. In July, it held Japan's first SHINJEO pop-up at Isetan Shinjuku, offering 30 styles including the visors. Exhibiting at PLUG IN for the first time in October, the brand aims to expand its sales channels to department stores, select shops, and specialty stores.
